12 sparkling years on stage and 600 concerts through the hexagon have turned this French quatuor into quite a solid group of Jazz explorers. Beneath their skilled fingers, the double bass and the wild rythmic guitar sway to the tuning fork, while the bass clarinett melody meets the soaring of an accordion enjoying a free ride. Looking tirelessly at the four cardinal points for the best accoustic energies, “Les Fils Canouche” express their swinging mood through unleashed tangos, 5 quarter-time waltz or even gipsy rumbas. As fiercy disciples of a modern Django or a resurected Piazzolla, they blur the boundaries of time and music to provide you with a pure moment of gipsy swing.
Their fourth album entitled “The fasciculation,” recorded in Paris is the fruit of a long period of composition, taking their years of training toward higher spheres of a jazz : the work of four musicians at the pinnacle of their art, marrying emotion and energy with elegance and virtuosity. The fingers of the brilliant guitarist, Olivier Kikteff, flutter unique soloist skills over two pieces of irresistible swing.
Composed above all for live concerts, this new record is at heart a show totally rethought, redesigned and reworked, from lighing to scenography.
