The single <strong>\u2018Takamba Yacouba\u2019<\/strong> has been available since <strong>6 March 2026<\/strong> on all<br \/>\nplatforms.<\/p>\n<p>After 25 years of experimentation, encounters and travels, flutist and composer <strong>Jean-Luc Thomas<\/strong><br \/>\nwanted to create a group in his own name, the <strong>Jean-Luc Thomas Quartet<\/strong>. For this new musical<br \/>\nadventure, he has surrounded himself with musicians from the national scene, coming from jazz,<br \/>\ntraditional music and even early music. Together, they share a taste for melody, rhythm and<br \/>\nimprovisation, but also an openness to each other and to the cultures of the world. Following this<br \/>\ncreation and a series of concerts, <strong>Jean-Luc Thomas<\/strong> wanted to produce an album entitled<br \/>\n<strong>\u2018Sillons\u2019<\/strong>. This album is intended to be both a musical travel journal and a vibrant tribute to all the<br \/>\nmasters he has encountered along the way: from the warmth of festo\u00f9-noz and pubs nourished by<br \/>\noral tradition to the popular music of Niger, Brazil and India.<\/p>\n<p>Cast:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Jean-Luc Thomas <\/strong>(flutes, composition and arrangements)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Simon Le Doar\u00e9<\/strong> (double bass, arrangements and orchestration)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Timoth\u00e9e Le Net<\/strong> (diatonic accordion and arrangements)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hugo Pottin<\/strong> (drums and arrangements)<\/li>\n<li>Guest artists: <strong>Catherine Delaunay<\/strong> (clarinets); <strong>Marie-Suzanne de Loye<\/strong> (viola da gamba); <strong>Line<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Willerval<\/strong> (gadulka).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It can be learned, taught and theorised, but music will never completely break away from<br \/>\nits roots. We must always be more open to the world and those who inhabit it. No one<br \/>\nunderstands this requirement better than Jean-Luc Thomas, now one of France&#8217;s greatest<br \/>\nflute players in the field of traditional and improvised music.<\/p>\n<p>Originally from Tr\u00e9gor, his musical horizons continue to expand as he travels the world.<br \/>\n<strong>Jean-Luc Thomas<\/strong> collaborates with musicians and singers from Brittany, Mali, Poland,<br \/>\nBrazil, India and the Arab world, including traditional, classical and jazz musicians (<strong>Carlos<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Malta, Michel Godard, Yacouba Moumouni, Vitor Lopes, Ravichandra Kulur<\/strong>, etc.), and<br \/>\njoined the <strong>Th\u00e9\u00e2tre \u00c9questre Zingaro (\u2018Ex-Anima\u2019)<\/strong> for three years.<\/p>\n<p>A tireless explorer of the world and its traditions, he has never compromised his artistic<br \/>\nintegrity for commercial gain. In all his attempts to unite different musical styles, <strong>Jean-Luc<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Thomas<\/strong> has never been satisfied with formulas, tricks or shortcuts.
