A festive, poetic, and generous album, designed for dancing and listening.<\/p>\n<p>Created in 2014, La <strong>Cuivraille<\/strong> is a band that uniquely blends the sounds of traditional French music with the energy and textures of contemporary music (groove, funk, reggae, etc.). Through a clever mix of violin, vocals, brass section (trumpet, trombone, saxophone), electric bass, and percussion, the group offers a modern, lively, and accessible sound that is both rooted in tradition and resolutely forward-looking.<\/p>\n<p><strong>La Cuivraille<\/strong> is composed of:<br \/>\n<strong>Gabriel Lenoir<\/strong>: compositions, violin, vocals<br \/>\n<strong>Mak\u00e9 Knockaert<\/strong>: trumpet, flugelhorn, vocals<br \/>\n<strong>Florian Laihem<\/strong>: saxophone, vocals<br \/>\n<strong>Constant Sajaloli<\/strong>: trombone, vocals<br \/>\n<strong>Louis Descamps<\/strong>: bass, doublebass, vocals<br \/>\n<strong>Nicolas Painset<\/strong>: percussions, vocals<br \/>\n<strong>Prune Lacante:<\/strong> violin (guest on track 13).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEach album by <strong>Gabriel Lenoir<\/strong> is a new journey. Let&#8217;s be clear, this isn&#8217;t about getting on a plane, playing at so-called exoticism, all-inclusive holidays and whatnot. Not at all! We stroll, we wander, we roam, we breathe in the air, we visit the nooks and crannies of our own regions, or even just a little further afield.<\/p>\n<p>Remember the seeds. All the seeds&#8230; not the ones that a few ill-intentioned multinationals (that sounds like a pleonasm) are trying to impose on you at the expense of the incredible wealth of plant, vegetable and flower diversity available throughout our countryside. All the seeds, all the fragrances, tastes and flavours of our rural areas, our terroirs and our cultures. <strong>Gabriel Lenoir<\/strong> is one of those amateur seed gardeners we thought had been forgotten. He dares to sow seeds, take cuttings and experiment with combinations. He is unpretentious but has the passion of an intelligent grower who understands what gleaning brings to his garden. When you take the time to look at his repertoire \u2013 or repertoires, given the number of groups and projects he is involved in \u2013 you find traces of several generations.<\/p>\n<p>Those who still had the old seeds and sowed them regularly, those who went to meet them to see, learn and pass on their knowledge, those who still receive this legacy today, spreading it by reinventing it, trying out other combinations, other variations. Without forgetting where this treasure of simplicity comes from, a treasure that, in this case, makes people dance by instilling in them as much pleasure as a juicy fruit or a smooth wine. This is Gabriel&#8217;s talent: whatever group he leads, he draws on an enormous heritage whose richness he understands. And, in this new album by his group <strong>La Cuivraille,<\/strong> he stands out as a strong individual within a strong community. A community outlined above and shared between those who have given free access to music rooted in tradition and those who, like Gabriel, have understood the subtle blend of responsibility and freedom that such a heritage offers. So here we have his violin and voice again, accompanied by bass, percussion and a brass section.
