This new work will be presented live on stage on <strong>Thursday May 16, 2024<\/strong> at <strong>Studio de L\u2019Ermitage<\/strong> (Paris).<\/p>\n<p>Their first single <strong>&#8216;6 B\u00e9mols&#8217;<\/strong> has been available on all <a href=\"https:\/\/bfan.link\/6-bemols\"><strong>platforms<\/strong><\/a> since <strong>9 February 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Amina Mezaache &amp; Maracuja<\/strong> is composed of:<br \/>\n&#8211; <strong>Amina Mezaache<\/strong>: flutes and compositions<br \/>\n&#8211; <strong>Yoan Fernandez<\/strong>: guitars<br \/>\n&#8211; <strong>Fabien Debellefontaine<\/strong>: sousaphone and flute<br \/>\n&#8211; <strong>Jonathan Edo<\/strong>: percussions<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>guest artists<\/strong> on the album are:<br \/>\n&#8211; <strong>Simon Deslandes:<\/strong> trumpet and fuglehorn (tracks 1 and 7)<br \/>\n&#8211; <strong>Florent Sepchat:<\/strong> accordion (tracks 1 and 9)<br \/>\n&#8211; <strong>Edgar Sekloka:<\/strong> rap (track 6)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lead artist: Amina Mezaache:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After passing through New York, Recife, Ouagadougou, Rio, London, Bali, <strong>Amina Mezaache<\/strong>\u2019s flute offers us a profound and rich sound, full of diverse influences and inspired by the roots of traditional world music as well as jazz, classical and contemporary music. As a demanding soloist and experienced composer, she has been the founder of creative jazz groups since 2005. She has explored contemporary jazz writing, colored with various influences from world and repetitive music, such as the <strong>Inama sextet<\/strong> in 2008 (1st prize of Esprit Jazz Saint-Germain-Des-Pr\u00e9s Festival and composition prize of La D\u00e9fense Competition), <strong>the ESP<\/strong> in 2011 and <strong>the Maracuja quartet<\/strong>, with whom she has been touring for 10 years.<br \/>\nFirst Prize in composition and flute at the Cr\u00e9teil Conservatory, holder of a master\u2019s degree in jazz at the University of Paris 8, she has enriched her musical universe since 2011 by collaborating with numerous musicians from the world music scene.<br \/>\nSince 2011 she has traveled regularly to Brazil, where she collaborates with the great musicians <strong>Hermeto Pascoal<\/strong> and <strong>Itiber\u00ea Zwarg.<\/strong><br \/>\nIn 2022, she participates in the large orchestra project <strong>Orquestra Familia da Fran\u00e7a<\/strong> with the composer and bassist <strong>Itiber\u00ea Zwarg<\/strong>, in partnership with the Sons d\u2019Hiver festival, which gives rise to several concerts and the production of a live album, released in February 2024.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Maracuja:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Created in 2012 by <strong>Amina Mezaache<\/strong>, <strong>Maracuja<\/strong> is the fruit of the meeting of 4 talented musicians eager to cross the influences of jazz and improvisation with the richness of Brazilian music. This quartet of variable geometry is distinguished by an original instrumentation, which combines the timbres of <strong>Amina<\/strong>\u2019s flutes with those of <strong>Fabien Debellefontaine<\/strong>\u2019s sousaphone, <strong>Yoan<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Fernandez<\/strong>\u2019s guitar and <strong>Jonathan Edo<\/strong>\u2019s multiple percussions.<br \/>\nIn the tradition of Brazilian avant-garde composers, such as <strong>Egberto Gismonti<\/strong>, <strong>Hermeto Pascoal<\/strong>, <strong>Guinga<\/strong>, but also inspired by traditional and afro-descendant, music, <strong>Amina Mezaache<\/strong>\u2019s compositions are conceived as so many colorful and contrasting paintings, which explore combinations of timbres and encounters between rhythms.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Amina Mezaache &amp; Maracuja will unveil their new album &#8220;Vortex&#8221; on its release April 26, 2024, on Veston L\u00e9ger \/ InOu\u00efe Distribution.
