Helena Recalde<\/strong> will unveil her new album \u00ab Karishina<\/strong> \u00bb on its digital<\/strong> release May 27, 2022<\/strong> and physical<\/strong> release on June 10, 2022<\/strong> on FincaSud<\/strong> \/ Les Artpie’Cultrices<\/strong> \/ InOu\u00efe Distribution<\/strong>. This new work will be presented live on stage on Friday June 17, 2022<\/strong> at Point Fort d’Aubervilliers<\/strong> (produced by Villes des Musiques du Monde<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

\u00ab Karishina<\/strong> \u00bb is:
\n– Helena Recalde<\/strong>: voice, bass and double bass
\n– Fady Farah<\/strong>: piano
\n– Vanesa Garc\u00eda<\/strong>: drums and percussions<\/p>\n

The guests are:
\n– Curi Cachimuel<\/strong>: pan flutes
\n– Samir Homsi<\/strong>: Oriental percussions
\n– \u00ab Singa<\/strong> \u00bb Choir (directed by Dennis Lethuillier)
\n– Kiala<\/strong>: guitar<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cKarishina<\/strong>\u201d is an album in which Helena Recalde<\/strong> and her musicians alternately perform original compositions, a traditional South American song \u201cNo Valentin\u201d and a theme from the jazz repertoire \u201cAfro Blue\u201d. Within this musical universe, the nostalgia of Andean melodies mixes with the piquant joy of Afro Pacific rhythms, passing through jazz tones and giddy improvisations, all embellished with textures of nature and committed titles. <\/p>\n

Karishina<\/strong> means -woman unfit for chores-. It is an insult, a mockery only addressed to women.<\/p>\n
